Hey Tumblr, It’s been a bit.
I’m currently typing this from my favorite burrito spot in my hometown. I just moved into a new place and I don’t have internet yet. Bare with me.
I’ve been working alot, our new record just came out and we are now writing more new stuff soo yeah. That’s it.
RANT
I’m hoping music will become cool again. When I say cool, I mean real.
I thought turning your back on everything you know was the way to go in this industry. It isn’t. Putting on an outfit just doesn’t make any sense to me anymore. I’m at a point in my career where I just don’t give a fuck anymore because nothing else matters than writing good music and making a connection. I put so much into the last band I was in where now a days, I’m just more easy going. I used to be the dude who would always make sure something gets done, come with this idea, stay up till 5am doing whatever. I’m just over it I guess. This isn’t me giving up, this is me just going with the flow and finally focusing on what matters.
So many bands worry about all the wrong things. All I can say, with this new band….everything we do, it’s all for us. Not to say we don’t love our fans but we write for us. There are no boundaries. We aren’t scared.
I feel a lot of songs now a days are just about nothing and you can hear that. It just sounds less personal. When you just write about any old thing, I feel you can hear it in the song. There isn’t anything wrong with working with co writers or even having your songs written for you in general, it’s just not my thing and I’m a huge country fan.
I think our mission with this band is just to be normal dudes and not do what everyone else is doing.
